In Edith Hamilton’s, Mythology we learned about Greek Gods and Goddess. We choose a god or goddess to become and give hints on Twitter. I was the Gift of all Mankind.

These are the hints:

My child was a human being.

I married Epimethesus. We had a girl Deucalion.

My dad says that all mankind should adore me.

Dad! I love that im the gift.

I wanna look in the box and see what’s in there.

There’s a party. I’ll bring the gift.

I cant wait to open my gift!

Some might call me spoiled, and some may think im lucky but i was born gifted!

I open the box and out flew plagues innumerable, sorrow and mischief for mankind.

Whoa. I dont think i should of open this I panted.

I picked the four best sentences that I could find in this book  Joey Pigza Loses Control.

Simple: That’s one thing I liked about him already.

Compound: ” My license  is slightly expired and I don’t have insurance, so just bear with me.”

Complex: After I did that I grabbed Pablo and strapped him into the baby seat, then pushed them down the sidewalk and turned onto the road as Grandma adjusted her little sun umbrella.

Compound Complex: I tugged out a wad of tissues and began to clean the mess out from between all the little knobs and buttons on the radio, which was hard to do because the car was jerking around in all directions, so I quit..

the first part last

I have recently read The First Part Last by Angela Johnson.

The First Part Last is the story of Bobby Morris, as a teenage father. Before baby Feather was born, he’s a best friend K-boy and J.L ask him serious question about the baby. Which left Bobby with struggles and confusion. As his friends fought, he has a major decision to make keeping the baby or giving it up for adoption. His life shifts when the baby is born, and he has to learn how to be a man and a father a quick pace. Bobby has already fallen in love with his baby girl, when he first lays his eyes on her. The things he does must be done in order of his daughter to have an amazing life. Bobby is trying to deal with the challenges he is facing in his new life.

This book is a wake-up call for teenagers who are dealing with intimacy and thinks getting pregnant cannot happen to them. This book informs a lot about what’s a parent role and teens may change the way their lives are headed. This book should let the readers understand the issues as being a teenage parent, and what’s to face.

The writer sounded mellow and down throughout the book. You can everything he’s feeling, thru becoming a father at a young age to going to jail. Teenagers that think their ready to become intimate should read this book. It defiantly made me think twice about making decisions.

Maria Mitchell:

“Study as if you were going to live forever; live as if you were going to die tomorrow.”

Maria Mitchell was an astronomer. She became first women member of  American Academy of Arts and Science. She discovered “Miss Mitchell’s Comet” in the autumn of 1847. Maria Mitchell authored Among the Stars and The Life Of Maria Mitchell. I think Maria Mitchell wrote this quote because she believes peole shouldn’t waste  life on doing pointless things. Learn as much, in the time that is there . I picked this quote because it is sending a message to everyone. Make smart decision because if people waste  time on irrelevant things it will be too late to change. Live life to the fullest because tomorrow isn’t promise.
